WELCOME TO PHYSICAL EDUCATION AT KILKEEL HIGH SCHOOL!

Here are some questions you may be wondering!

 

How much PE do you get each week?

There is 90 minutes of Physical Education per week for classes in Year 8- Year 11.

What is the PE kit like?

Girls PE Kit

  • Light Blue PE top with KHS logo or plain blue polo shirt 
  • Black Skort/ shorts or plain black leggings
  • Black KHS hoody or plain maroon sweatshirt 
  • Kilkeel High School Leggings are now available in 3 quarter length or full length

Boys PE Kit

  • Light Blue KHS top or plain blue polo shirt 
  • Black Shorts or plain black tracksuit bottoms 
  • Black KHS hoody 

There are also waterproof tops available for both the boys and the girls. 

 

What activities are on offer in Kilkeel High School?

As a pupil of Kilkeel High School you will get to experience a wide range of activities in the PE curriculum. 

SWIMMING- lessons at the pool with qualified instructor and PE teacher with opportunity to perform in the swimming gala.

GAMES- a wide variety of team and individual games such as hockey, football, basketball, netball, tag rugby, tennis and many more. 

DANCE & GYMNASTICS- the girls will get to try out different styles of dance such as line dance, cheerleading and dance fitness as well as learning basic gymnastics, improving their skills and creating routines.

ATHLETICS & CROSS COUNTRY- our pupils get to try all areas of athletics, track and field, throwing and jumping events with opportunity to participate in the district competitions. 

FITNESS- pupils will regularly have fitness tests to track their progress and try to improve those scores with circuit training and other types of fitness.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Are there competitions within the PE department?

Yes! You will regularly get the opportunity to compete in house matches in several different sporting activities. Points mean prizes, so the more points you can gain for Binnian, Donard and Eagle you could end up winning the house cup at the end of the year.
